| Always being a great visionary and lover of gospel music, Peppi was compelled 6 years ago to make a mighty move to thrust gospel music into the forefront of not only South Florida but the nation and abroad. Seeing the need to bring more visibility to well deserved gospel independent gospel artist, The South Florida Gospel Music Awards was established. The very first awards ceremony was held in 2004 in West Palm Beach, FL at the Ephesus SDA Church which saw an estimated 600 persons in attendance. Each year has increased in number with 2009 seeing an estimated total of 1200 over the SFGMA weekend. This year 2011 promises to be the biggest and best so far with estimated totals equaling 1500 to 2000 over the SFGMA Weekend of November 4-5, 2011. We are expecting national persons in the capacity of independent gospel artist, gospel industry personnel and executives, clergy, elected officials, the private and public sectors all to be a part of this memorial event.
